At 19:30, a public panel discussion on “Civil War? America, Political Spectacle, and the Future of Democracy” will bring together scholars and educators from both sides of the German‑Dutch border. The discussion is moderated by Anke Grünspek (Head of English and Spanish Department, ZfsL Krefeld). After a short break, the evening continues at 20:30 with a screening of Civil War (2024) in the original English version.

It is organized in cooperation with regional academic and cultural partners and supported by organizations committed to international exchange and democratic dialogue, including the Gesellschaft für internationale Begegnungen (GiB), the Deutsch‑Amerikanische Gesellschaft (DAG), and the Netherlands American Studies Association (NASA).
